A “hands on” one day workshop designed to explore and practice your organizations methodology in developing and maintaining a culture of philanthropy.
Goals of the workshop: • Exploration and understanding of the basic points of Relationship Based Fundraising and how to incorporate this model into your practice.
• Develop your “Case for Support” to ensure that it really tells the story your donors need to hear.
• Real time “live” coaching and practice as you learn how to communicate this message to your donor prospects so that they will be compelled to act.
How is this workshop different and why should you attend?
Unlike many workshops, the methodology of Beyond the Ask…. is to give you hands on experiential learning and coaching from 2 experts in the field of fundraising and communication with combined experience of 45 years as executives and consultants in the non-profit sector. Not only will you learn from Beyond the Ask….
but through group interaction, dialog and participation in the feedback and coaching process you will learn from others’ challenges and successes. This will be a working session where you will gain powerful tools to effectively communicate with your donors, maximizing your success in raising the needed funds for your long-term financial sustainability.
When you leave, you will have:
• A personalized plan with measurable benchmarks/goals for developing effective RBF/Communications. • Your story (Case for support) along with enhanced presentation and communication skills • Based on your specific plan, within two months of the workshop a follow-up consultation with the appropriate program
facilitator.

Since 2003,
David Unger has assisted a variety of not for profits to achieve their goals and attain financial sustainability.
David has more than thirty years of experience in the not-for-profit field, including 14 years as an agency Executive Director. With an MSW in Community Development and Organization,
he understand the problems facing today’s not for profits. Utilizing his knowledge and experience in donor and fund development, organizational management, strategic planning, and project development,
David has proven expertise in assisting nonprofits navigate their toughest challenges towards the achievement of extraordinary outcomes.

Miriam Goldsmith brings a diverse background that has served the non-profit, business and artistic communities for almost 30 years.
Miriam
provides training and coaching for personal effectiveness and leadership development through cultivation of “authentic presence”, communication, speaking and presentation skills. She holds a Masters Degree in Leadership Studies, and advanced graduate certification in the facilitation of Expressive Arts.
Miriam
founded the non-profit organization Rite of Passage Cancer Project 14 years ago and became the Executive Director of the Hope Center for Cancer Support in Providence, RI for a few years until she left to co-direct and produce a documentary film about families coping with childhood cancer. Her passion for the cause of enhancing quality of life for people living with cancer and her inspirational, compelling speaking style have been
the cornerstone of many successful fundraising endeavors to build, cultivate and sustain these projects.
